The E-Wire Calc is a specialized tool designed for the analysis of enamelled copper wire, or magnet wire, adhering to industry standards such as IEC, NEMA, and JIS. It offers a comprehensive set of functions aimed at determining various technical characteristics across wire diameters ranging from 0.010 to 0.8 mm, or AWG 58 to 20.
The DIAMETER function facilitates conversions between millimeters, inches, and AWG wire sizes, ensuring flexibility in measurement interpretation.
The RESISTANCE function provides the nominal resistance for a specified bare copper wire according to the selected standard, or alternatively calculates the wire diameter based on a known resistance value.
The METALS function enables the calculation of bare wire diameters for various metals when given a specific resistance, supporting comparative analysis across different materials.
The RESISTANCE TOLERANCE feature indicates the permissible range for resistance values, defining minimum and maximum limits for a given copper wire diameter as stipulated by the applicable standard.
The SIZES function estimates the quantity of enamelled copper per unit length, as well as computes the required length for a given quantity and cross-sectional area based on an outer diameter measurement.
The BREAKDOWN VOLTAGE measurement assesses the minimum withstand voltage of an enamelled copper wire with a specified nominal diameter across different safety classes involving additions or increases.
The WINDING TENSION function calculates the maximum recommended winding tension in centiNewtons (cN), as recommended by ELEKTRISOLA, corresponding to specific wire diameters.
Lastly, the OVERALL DIAMETER TOLERANCE provides the acceptable limits for outer diameter dimensions of enamelled wires, taking into account various addition or increase classes according to set standards.
